IBO Player review: the smart TV player

Its big strength is where it runs. Its weak spot is speed on older TVs.

What it is

IBO Player is an IPTV player app. It does not provide channels. You add your own subscription, as Xtream Codes or a playlist link.

Why people use it

It installs from the official app stores on Samsung and LG smart TVs, where most IPTV players are not available. No extra box needed.

How activation works

The app shows a device ID and key. You add your playlist on IBO Player's official website using those codes. After a free trial period, IBO Player asks for a one-time activation fee per device. That fee goes to IBO Player, not to your IPTV provider.

Pros and cons

Good

  • Runs on Samsung and LG TVs
  • Also on Android and FireStick
  • One-time fee, not yearly

Limits

  • Playlist added from a website, not the TV
  • Slower on older TVs
  • TV guide less polished than TiviMate

Verdict

Best choice if you want to use the TV's own apps. If you have a FireStick or Google TV box, TiviMate is smoother.
